Jason
Founder & Installer
Over 21 years in the glazing trade, specialising in heritage properties and traditional craftsmanship.
My career began over 21 years ago with a respected glazing company in Bath, where I specialised in heritage properties across the Georgian city. Working on traditional glazing — including heritage-style work and face putty — gave me a deep appreciation for skilled, detailed craftsmanship. I launched J K Hamblin in 2019, and since then the business has grown to offer a full range of glazing and home improvement services, from uPVC windows and doors to composite doors, fascias, soffits and guttering. With hands-on experience in both traditional and modern installations, I'm able to recommend and deliver the right solution for every type of property. I believe excellent customer service is just as important as excellent workmanship. From the first enquiry through to installation, I take pride in every job and treat every home with care and respect.

With over 20 years' experience working with heritage and traditional style glazing in and around Bath, Somerset and Wiltshire, we have a strong understanding of how to approach properties where character, detail and sympathetic design are important.
We offer glazing options designed to suit heritage and traditional style properties, including homes in conservation areas and Grade listed buildings. This can include slimline glass units, work on sash windows and traditional face putty work where required. Our aim is to retain the character and appearance of the building while improving comfort, performance and everyday usability.
We can discuss sympathetic window styles, glazing details, colour choices and finishes that work with the age and appearance of the property, while helping to keep the work in line with building regulations, conservation requirements and any relevant listed building considerations.
Are your double-glazed units steamed up or showing condensation inside the glass? This is usually a sign that the sealed unit has broken down. In many cases this is easy to remedy without needing to replace the whole frame.
At JK Hamblin we can supply and fit A-rated toughened glass units back into your existing frames, whether they are uPVC or timber. All of our replacement glass units come with a ten-year guarantee, giving you confidence in the quality of the work and the products we fit.
Often it is not necessary to change the frames. If you are experiencing failed, misted or broken-down glass units, JK Hamblin can help — please get in touch for a quote.
We provide a maintenance and repair service for existing windows and doors. This includes fixing handles, hinges, locks and mechanisms, as well as easing, adjusting and replacing worn parts where needed.
Our repair service can help improve the operation of your existing windows and doors and extend their lifespan where a full replacement is not required.
When we come out to look at what needs to be fixed we will always give you an honest opinion. We will not look to upsell if we know something can be repaired, and we will work with you to find the most suitable option for your property and budget.
We supply and install fascias, soffits and guttering to help protect your home from the weather while keeping the outside of the property neat, tidy and well maintained.
Whether you need a small repair, a replacement section or a full roofline upgrade, we can advise on practical, long-lasting options to suit your home.
We also work closely with a trusted scaffolding company, allowing us to help organise the job from start to finish and make sure everything runs as smoothly as possible.
We aim to work closely with our customers, listen carefully to what they would like to achieve and provide practical advice based on our experience. Sometimes customer requests can be more bespoke, and where we can help create something new or adapt an existing feature, we will. For example, if you have a solid composite door and would now like a glass feature added, this is something we can discuss and carry out where suitable.
We have also helped customers update conservatories that have started to look dated or are no longer working well for the way they use their home. We have transformed lean-to conservatories and unused rooms into spaces customers now love and use all the time. We work closely with a carpenter, which allows us to install timber and solid roofs, strengthen original rooflines and improve the structure where required.
Our work has included insulated ceilings and roofs for conservatories, replacing original metal-framed sections with timber framing, adding insulated walls, fitting external cladding and finishing the space with a glass roof where appropriate. We would be happy to talk through your ideas, designs and requirements — contact us for a no-obligation site survey and a conversation.
We specialise in heritage property glazing, including traditional glazing and face putty work, preserving the character of period homes while improving comfort and performance.
